My author copies of “The Christbearer” just arrived!
This week I was thrilled to get a very cool package in the mail — my author/editor copies of the latest book from Voyage Comics & Publishing: The Christbearer.
My essay “The Good Samaritan” appears in this new anthology of essays, stories, and legends. The Christbearer explores the connections between Christian saints like St. Joseph and St. Christopher with the characters and themes of the hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
I also edited the book alongside Voyage Comics founder Philip Kosloski.
This is my second published credit in a Voyage Comics anthology. You can purchase both The Christbearer and Tolkien & Faith from the Voyage Comics online store today!
I’m querying my new children’s book!
In the last issue, I mentioned that I started writing a children’s nonfiction book. I really pushed myself to finish the manuscript in February, in time to pitch the book to publishers at the Catholic Writers Guild online conference.
I’m happy to report that the conference was a great success. The publishing team I pitched to were interested in my idea and asked to see my manuscript! I emailed my query letter and latest draft this past Monday.
Even if this publisher ultimately passes on the book, I am immensely grateful to have gotten this far — I actually wrote a book! I would not have believed that was possible even a few months ago. I just didn't have the self confidence.
I will certainly keep you updated of the progress of this book in the months ahead.
In the meantime, I just started work on a brand new manuscript. I am really excited about this project, and I’ll probably post more details in a future issue. For now, all I’ll say is that dragons are involved!
Thanks again for your support of this newsletter and of all my creative endeavors. I have a few more issues planned for this month, so watch this space for updates.
Please let me know in the comments below if you have any suggestions for future articles, reviews, essays or other content. Or just feel free to say “Hello!”
Until we meet again, “the Road goes ever on . . .”
